Camano Island Studio Tour
The Camano Arts Association presents its 27th annual Camano Island Studio Tour on Mother’s Day weekend (May 8-10) and the following “encore” weekend (May 16, 17). You are invited to participate by visiting any or all of the 22 studios and galleries featuring the work of local and regional artists. This is a self-guided tour and the Information Booth with Tour Maps and Studio Guidebooks is located next to the Gateway Gallery at 578 E. North Camano Drive (at Freedom Park in Terry’s Corner).
As a self-guided tour, you can design your own experience as you meet with artists to not only appreciate their work, but learn how it was made, where it was inspired and what it means to the artist. For the first time this year, we expanded our call for artists to include regional creatives who live nearby but not in the Stanwood-Camano area. This change allowed us to attract new artists to our ever-evolving tour. These regional artists are being hosted by local studios – you’ll find Marie-Claire Dole at Studio #6 and Sophie Bertrand at Studio #18. Of course, we continue to present the work of long-time area residents like Jack Gunter (Studio #1), Marguerite Goff (Studio #21) and our cover artist, Susan Cohen Thompson (Studio #7), to name just a few of the more than 28 individuals on the tour.
Throughout the tour, you’ll see work in various mediums from painting, ceramics and jewelry to glass and textiles. There is truly something for everyone! You may be on the hunt for the perfect gift or have a plan to add to your own art collection. Regardless of your mission, we believe you will find yourself inspired by the majestic beauty of Camano Island and the talented artists who are opening their studios to the public for this once-a-year opportunity.
